Charity Invests In The Purton Red House Pub
Back to overviewMarch 28, 2023
This autumn The Purton Red House Pub will be further developed for the benefit of all in Purton, with the installation of an accessible toilet.
The plans, which reflect an investment of £20k and have taken 18 months to bring to fruition, have remained a top focus for the Charity, which runs under a trading arm at the Purton Village Centre site.
The new bathroom which opened in March, will offer all the little things that make visits to The Purton Red House possible, including ramped access, an automatic door, wheelchair height washing facilities, supporting handrails, and a pull alarm in case of emergency.
This new facility will also provide enhanced baby changing facilities, to better enable young families to enjoy their time at the venue.
Clerk of Purton Parish Council, Deborah Lawrence said:
“This important and necessary investment brings together two key strands of the work undertaken by The Purton Red House, which are supported by Purton Parish Council.
Firstly, it reflects the central role of equality to our ethos, which simply means removing barriers to anyone who wishes to be a part of the positive atmosphere and lively events at The Purton Red House Pub.
Secondly, it reflects the importance of community in our village and the pivotal role the pub plays for everyone, at the centre of our community – bringing them together for a game of bingo, skittles, watching sports, competing in quizzes or simply taking time out for a quiet drink.
We want everyone to know that they are warmly welcomed at The Purton Red House”.
