Join the Wiltshire Together Cost of Living Campaign
Wessex Community Action has published a Cost of Living Campaign on Wiltshire Together and is urging local VCSE organisations that offer “cost of living” associated services and support to Wiltshire’s residents to join the campaign.
You will remember that during the early days of Covid, Wiltshire Council produced a community directory of services and support to help residents find local food and prescription delivery services for example. Now we’ve established Wiltshire Together, it provides a “living directory” of “live” support available managed and maintained by the contributing organisations, so residents can easily find what they need to support them through the cost of living crisis.
Furthermore, Wiltshire Council Wellbeing Hub will be using Wiltshire Together and the Cost of Living campaign to signpost resident enquiries to the support available.
To ensure residents can get the advice and support they need; whether it is finding a local foodbank, community fridge or pantry, getting advice on their energy bills or ways to stay warm, managing their money or budgeting support, or finding somewhere to repair or borrow items rather than buy new, we want the information available via Wiltshire Together’s Cost of Living Campaign to be as comprehensive as possible.
Using Wiltshire Together and adding to the Campaign is very straightforward.
1. Make sure you have registered on Wiltshire Together and have set up your member or organisation profile to include the key information about your organisation including contact details, website and social accounts. There is help on the site to do this which you can access via https://madeopen.co.uk/guides/user-guide/registration-and-profile/set-up-your-profile. (This is also an opportunity to review & update your information to ensure it is current, accurate and complete)
2. Add your cost of living related services, support and activities. You can begin this process by selecting the ‘Your Account’ drop down from the top right hand corner and selecting ‘Add an Activity’
3. Once you’ve made it to the ‘Set Your Search Options’ page of adding your activity please ensure you select only the most relevant “help types” – please note - limit your choices to 3 or 4 – choosing too many can result in people finding it difficult to retrieve the information they require.
4. Make sure you tick the “Cost of Living Campaign” box.
5. Submit your entry and our administrator will check it over and then make it live on Wiltshire Together for residents to find.
If you have any problems in registering, setting up or updating your profile, and adding services and support Wessex Community Action is on hand to assist. We are running a workshop on 9th November which you can sign up for via Eventbrite here or contact the office.
However, please note the offices will be closed from 24th October for the week, back in on Monday 31st October.
Kind Regards
