On Saturday 8th June at Purton Red House around 200 people of all ages, were welcomed to the free event ‘Party On The Green’.

Starting at 2.00pm and running until the close of the pub at midnight, four musical acts played a variety of music to get the party started. Sets and bands included Just Jinny; Jordan Marvell; Rythmia; and Toxic Girls.

For the children’s entertainment there was a bouncy castle, soft play, balloon modeller, ice cream van, Josh and Daniel’s fundraising stalls, for their trip to Morocco (including a splendid splat the rat game!) and a face painter. The play area and junior football pitch were also busy all day.

One attendee described it as, ‘a lovely little local event’ and one of the children when asked if they were having a nice time said, ‘yes it's brilliant!’.

A selection of hot food was served at the Purton Red House including burgers, chicken, fries & onion rings, until supplies of some items were sold out!

A good time was had by all, and the weather was pleasant and bright in the evening!
