Purton Parish Council launches Coronation Bake Off!
Back to overviewFebruary 2, 2023
Hoping to cause a stir and create a rise in interest, Purton Parish Council has launched a bake off to mark the Coronation and raise funds for Purton Community Fridge!
Entrants of all ages are being encouraged to show off their skills by baking their delicious cupcakes, shortbread or pear-based bake at home and delivering them to the Village Hall at 9am on Saturday 29th April.
Pear based recipes are being welcomed in particular because of the villages previous name of ‘Peartree Village’ and local production of the fruit.
The competition is FREE to enter and the winner in each category, will receive a certificate and small PRIZE. All entries will also receive a small Coronation Commemorative gift.
Entries will be judged by age and category. Little chefs (under 11) can also enter their decorated biscuits or cakes, on the same day.
After judging, baked items will be raffled off to raise funds for The Community Fridge.
Entry forms are available at this link and must be completed and returned by Friday 14th April, at 4pm. Please note that you only need to complete and return page 7.
Forms can be returned electronically by email as a PDF or JPEG to: susan.hughes@purtonparishcouncil.gov.uk.
Or if you prefer, paper entry forms can be obtained by calling: 01793 771824. These forms can be returned to the Council Office or Council Office Post Box and must also be returned by Friday 14th April.
