Around 70 senior citizens enjoyed a free Coronation Tea Party at Purton Village Hall on Friday 5th May.
Welcomed from 1.00pm, the VIPs all attired in the best bibs and tucker arrived to enjoy the festivities.
The hall was all decked out in red, white, and blue bunting, flowers, table covers, and vintage China was a welcome site.
Tea, finger sandwiches, cake, and scones with cream and jam, were all served on 3 tier cake plates to the very special visitors, for them to enjoy.
There was a free red, white, and blue chocolate raffle, with a donation of photography from local enthusiast Barry Davis.
The afternoon tea also welcomed the Pear Tree Pealers to play a selection of patriotic music including I vow to thee my country, Pomp & Circumstance and Rule, Britannia set the patriotic and royal tone.
One attendee said:
“It’s been lovely, and I’ve really enjoyed being able to enjoy celebrating the Coronation with my friends from Purton.”
