At a Purton Parish Council Meeting on Monday 11th September, Purton Parish Council resolved to continue to progress plans for water butts, local plant growing, homes for wildlife and ground level planting.
This decision comes following a survey, regarding a number of options to support biodiversity, extend planting schemes and to support the local community, in taking steps towards a greener future.
Purton Parish Council aims to be Carbon Neutral by 2030 and has already begun work with the purchase of an electric truck, investigations into solar panels and investing in more sustainable planting schemes. It will now take its next steps in line with community views.
Cllr Ray Thomas, Chair of Purton Parish Council said:
“We are delighted to learn that residents in the village are as passionate as we are about establishing a greener more sustainable future. Being able to hear the voices of our village really helps us to take the steps that everyone wants and needs. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our survey.”
